When I lived in Baltimore we got hit with some crazy winter storms. Not every year, maybe every 3-5 years.

Snowpocalypse!!

The snow would come down in buckets over 3ish days and we'd end up with like 6 feet of snow. At that time I lived about 15 miles from the hospital I was working at and there was no way I'd make it in there so I, and many other hospital employees, had to all band together and find a way to sleep at the hospital or get a hotel room near by or, like me, stay at a friends house who lived close.

It was a little scary and overwhelming but it was fun because we were all working together, going through this totally random and wild few days together. The food service department made breakfast for all the staff and there was just a lovely energy about all of us together, like a big summer camp weekend.

Then in my little city street when we'd get snowed it, it was fun fun fun, playing in the street, walking down the unplowed roads. The city was unrecognizable and again, everyone in our neighborhood was playing together in this wild time. We would all work together to shovel cars out and we made food for each other and had drinks and lots of laughs.

Snow isn't the most devastating of storms, especially considering the last 6 months we've had, but it reminds me that working together adds a certain kind of magic to a situation that can't be manufactured.

I feel like we are in a storm right now. And I'm not sure how long it will last or what the end result will be. I feel uneasy and unsure. Maybe you can relate.

If you can I have an episode of the podcast for you.

And I also put together a little PDF so you can put together your own survival guide.

We're going to get through this and we'll find the fun and we'll come out stronger together, until then we'll be getting through it side by side.

Until next week
